Happy 16th Birthday Colin! I cant believe its been 16 years. I had only turned 21 a few weeks earlier when you were born in 1998. There were no digital cameras, smart phones, Facebook, Skype or wifi. It would be days before any family back home would even see a picture of you. I relied on books to figure out the things I needed to know, not the internet. You were a good baby, happy and content. You wouldnt sleep unless you had at least one hand holding onto my hair. (BTW, I had headaches for YEARS because of this.) As you the years went by you grew into an amazing, feisty, funny and smart little guy. Our personalities are the most similar. You have an amazing ability to keep your emotions inside (dont let anyone ever tell you thats a bad thing) but when you do decide to let loose, LOOK OUT (not always a good thing)! You are smart and clever, too qualities that are very important and yet very different. I love that even though you are 16, you had no problems giving me a big hug and kiss last night in front of your friend. Some people say that you shouldnt be a friend to your child. I couldnt disagree more. I love sharing music with you and watching sometimes inappropriate but hilarious videos. I love that you have the same sick sense of humor as me and you make me laugh each and every day. I love that as we both get older I often feel like you are taking care of me, instead of me taking care of you. And I especially love that you have allowed me to publicly flaunt and sometimes embarrass you for the last 16 days without a single complaint. You are awesome!!! Happy Birthday Colin, I hope you have an incredible 16th year. I love you!!!!
