Happy 2014! For many, the new year is the perfect time to start a fitness program. With your doctor’s OK to exercise, fitness activities can improve your balance and coordination, reduce your risk of chronic disease and even improve your sleep habits and self esteem. Whatever activity you choose, whether it’s walking, biking or playing in a volleyball league, remember to start slow and gradually build intensity and frequency. By planning ahead and pacing yourself you can establish a healthy habit that will last a lifetime.
