Happy 67th Birthday to Rocker Joe Walsh. Joseph Fidler Joe Walsh (born November 20, 1947)[1] is an American musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, and actor. He has previously been a member of two commercially successful bands: Barnstorm and the Eagles. In the late 1960s, he was also a member of the critically acclaimed James Gang. He has also experienced success both as a solo artist and prolific session musician. Walsh is ranked at the Number 54 spot in the Rolling Stone magazines 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.[2] Walsh was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Eagles in 1998, the first year they were nominated.[3] The guitar solo on the track Hotel California by Walsh and Don Felder was, in 1998 by Guitarist magazine, selected as the best guitar solo of all time, and again in 1998 by Guitar Magazine at eighth of the Top 100 Guitar Solos. Walsh has been praised by many of the best rock guitarists, including Led Zeppelins former guitarist, Jimmy Page who praised Walsh by saying He has a tremendous feel for the instrument. Ive loved his style since the early James Gang. Creams former guitarist Eric Clapton said that Hes one of the best guitarists to surface in some time. I dont listen to many records, but I listen to his. The Whos guitarist Pete Townshend commented that Joe Walsh is a fluid and intelligent player. Therere not many like that around.[2][6] Although known primarily as a guitarist, Walsh also plays other instruments and sings.
