Happy 88th to long time radio host John Fraim. John came to Columbus in 1961 as a news reporter for WTVN after a long career in radio and television primarily in Indiana. He later served as news director and DC correspondent for the Taft radio news group. In Dec of 65, he became the morning host of the station and served until the fall of 79. Upon leaving he briefly served as manager and morning host of WRFD, then in 80 moved to morning host at WCOL. John made news after moving into an apartment atop the LeVeque Tower and broadcasting his morning show from there. In 84 a dispute with management led to him leaving and later joining WBBY as news reporter along with special report segments. Later, he and former WCOL announcer Johnny Hill purchased a radio station in Nelsonville and operated it for a short time. He also for a period of time was a columnist for some southern and southeastern Ohio newspapers. Hes now retired.
