Happy Birthday Alan Paul (born November 23, 1949, Newark, New Jersey). Alan Paul best known as one of the vocalists with Manhattan transfer, along with, Janis Siegel and others. His is a Grammy winning, singer and composer, as a writer and arranger for The Manhattan Transfer, he earned four Grammy nominations for his compositions including, Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone. After performances at Maxs Kansas City, the group developed a cult fan base. Ahmet Ertegün, founder and chairman of Atlantic Records, saw them at Reno Sweeney and offered a recording contract. The groups first album for Atlantic records was The Manhattan Transfer in 1975. They enjoyed many hits including,Twilight Zone/Twilight Tone, Spice of Life, Tuxedo Junction, Walk In Love, On a Little Street in Singapore & many others. GARY
