Happy Birthday Merald Bubba Knight, Jr. (born September 4, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia). He is best known as a member of Gladys Knight & the Pips. The older brother of lead singer Gladys Knight, Bubba Knight served as the unofficial leader of the group, and was instrumental in handling the Pips business matters. He was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. Gladys Knight & The Pips recorded for, Vee-Jay, Soul/Motown, Buddah, Columbia, MCA & The Pips had two solo albums on Casablanca records. The hits started with, Every Beat of My Heart (1961 ), followed by many other hits such as, I Heard It Through the Grapevine (1967), Daddy Could Swear, I Declare (1973), Neither One of Us (Wants to Be the First to Say Goodbye) (1973), Midnight Train to Georgia, Best Thing That Ever Happened to Me (1974), Love Overboard (1987), plus countless many more. Those Pips sure had some moves.
