Happy Birthday Otis Williams (born Otis Miles, Jr., October 30, 1941). He is best known as a founding member of the Motown vocal group The Temptations. Otis Williams is the groups only surviving original member, he still tours & records with the group with its present line up. The Temptations signed with Motown records in 1961, Otis Williams and Melvin Franklin are the only original members never to quit the group, Melvin Franklin would remain in the group until 1994, when he became physically incapable of continuing. Franklin died on February 23, 1995, leaving Otis Williams (then 53) as the last surviving original member of the Temptations quintet. In 1989, Otis Williams was inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Temptations. His Nicknamed is Big Daddy. Ron Tyson confirmed a new , Temptations album rumored to be titled Rulers of The Soul was almost completed. He said this CD would have more contemporary/mainstream feel, with major names featured, such as Ne-Yo, Miguel, Drake, Mario Winans, and T.I, with a release date set for this year, but nothing has appeared as yet. .
