Happy Birthday to my first born Scottie! Scott McKnight Josh Mcknight Josiah McKnight - MOM loves you and is proud of you! Twenty four years ago I gave birth to this beautiful caramel colored baby boy. Unfortunately I saw him once b/f they snagged him and took him to a different hospital 4 he was in distress (Meconium aspiration) when my meds wore off it hit me my son could die and I only touched him once (thru the incubator) I demanded 2 be released and was taken to Yale NBSCU (newborn special care unit) where I saw my son – needles in his forehead both is arms/legs . He was the biggest baby but the sickest in the unit and began to crash b/f my eyes. When a doctor has tears in their eyes explaining the situation u know it’s dire – BUT GOD – 30 days later after having nurses fight over my son (he was a cutie) he came home w/NOTHING – no oxygen etc. By rights he should suffer in his eyes – he is the only 1 of us that doesn’t wear glasses and suffered a bit from Asthma – it is only slight now – whoot He is my MIRACLE CHILD! Thinking about those lst days of his lst asthma attack can you say PANIC I had no clue…we spent many days in the emergency room – finally it was like give us the machine to use at home also remembering at two he was the March of Dimes Poster Child and did the official commercial - running on the beach looking all healthy and what-not - adorable ;-) He was Yale New Haven Hospitals first case with this issue - 4 they were going to air lift him to either New York or Boston - we made a choice 2 keep him in town - check this I couldnt even visit him initially and my grandfather Walter J stood in my stead - every day he went to hospital to pray for my son & fought in the spirit for him (love that man & so miss him). I CAN’T BELIEVE IT’S BEEN 24 YEARS AND I HAVE A COLLEGE TRAINED CHEF! WOW!! He is the first one of OUR family to complete his degree. Even when he trips, which I might add can be often, LOL I don’t regret a moment of his presence in my life. )...So today I dedicate this day to you Scott...YOU ROCK! mom.....
