Happy Birthday to my mom. She would be 66 today. The only thought or emotion I have for her is love. Thats what she was, and the greatest legacy she left to all of us she touched. I miss her physical presence every day, but I feel her spirit close. I know shes still with me. Last year we scattered her ashes in her beloved ocean with a gathering if family and friends in Seaside. As a good friend just said to me, closure is beautiful because its not a letting go of the love but the pain. And its true. Its another year of endings and new beginnings. If I learned anything, its to recognize though we are mortal, our spirit lives on. Make this life count. Make your mark. Do epic shit. My mom always encouraged us to pursue our dreams, always believed in us and never gave up. She was a nobody, really, but the echoes of her life are still felt around the world to this day. I love you Mom! Happy Birthday!
