Happy Birthday today (Nov. 27) to Andy Babiuk, who came to prominence in 1979 as the original recording bassist (at 16 years of age) with pionnering Rochester, New York 60s garage rock revivalists, The Chesterfield Kings; they were instrumental in sparking the 80s garage band revival that launched hundreds of other groups; their singles & albums (latest, 2009s Live On Stage…If You Want It) have covered everything from garage punk, hard rock, Stones-y R&B, blues, surf, & psych; their full-length feature film Where is the Chesterfield King?
