Happy Friday folks. A lot of poor driving lately so be careful out there. Yesterday, we investigated a crash in which a vehicle slammed into a light pole at McAndrews and Summit, knocking it to the ground. The vehicle fled the scene. Luckily an off-duty detective spotted a truck with a smashed in front end at Bear Creek shopping center. We arrested Larry McMurtrie, 43, who also had an outstanding warrant for Parole Violation -Robbery, and suspended license. Oh, and the truck was stolen as well. Great arrest. We also had a case yesterday in which a vehicle drove off the roadway near Olive Garden. The vehicle had previously been called in as reckless and witnesses reported that the driver was sniffing an inhalant, not something we see too often. David Ashpole, 21, was arrested for Reckless Driving and Reckless Endangering. Kenneth McCoard, 20 was busted for methamphetamine after being contacted near the Rose Grocery on Jackson Street. Jessica Johnson, 26, was caught shoplifting at Walmart and had warrants for her arrest, and meth in her possession. Have a great Friday! Watch out for crazy drivers.
