Happy Friday folks. So one of my favorite bands, Foo Fighters, just released another superb album this week. What makes this album special however is that they recorded all 8 songs on the record in 8 different U.S. cities. Dave Grohl (my musical hero) came up with this brilliant idea. He carefully picked the cities, including Washington D.C. where he grew up before joining Nirvana. Grohl sat down and interviewed famous musicians from all of these cities, and the words from these interviews became the lyrics in all of the songs. I couldnt help but get goosebumps listening to the 6th track on the record titled In The Clear. This song was recorded in The Big Easy itself. Every time I listen to the song, I cant help but think of Uncle Ryan. There is a great line pretty early in the song where Grohl goes, ....You can find me dancing with the spirits in The Square, God damn I swear... Just felt like I needed to share this with all of you. Not to mention, its a great song, with great big band sound incorporated throughout. Its amazing what great music can do for our imagination.
