Happy GURU PURNIMA to all known and unknown things and beings who taught me right and wrong....:)... Few lines taught by my guru which i admire a lot.... We live in the age of being busy. So much to do in a little time. Busy people not only do a lot but also think a lot. Although there seems to be lots to do, busy people spend much of their time in mind. Mental tiredness is a symptom of the self going against the truth about the self. When we create image/belief/ideas of or about the world out there in our mind, there is a tendency to jump around from image to image, belief to belief, idea to idea. Afraid of our own stillness we keep on scrolling up and down in our mental to do list and swinging from task to task. Afraid of our own silence we keep on creating noise of chattering thoughts to distract our self being lost in thought, not only tiring and to waste energy. This avoidance of the stillness that we are, this peaceless preoccupation, is not only exhausting, it also kills our capacity to contemplate and reflect, which are vital to our decision making capacity and to our self-renewal. All this incessant mental swinging between thoughts and ideas and images also goes against our true innate, infinite, unlimited being. Every thought/idea/image is small , tiny, and almost microscopic in scale compared to the vastness of the self. The i that is consciousness is by nature unlimited and infinite. But we keep trying to make ourselves small by attaching to and losing our self in the very thoughts that we create.........from a book
