Happy Halloween Everybody!!!! For those of you from Salt Lake City who remember Nightmare Theater on Friday nights on Channel 4 in the mid 1970s, the video below just might bring back some Halloween memories. Its an audio of Dr. Vulapuk -- who was Nightmare Theaters horror host when the program starting showing the classic Universal Horror films in 1973 -- introducing The Bride of Frankenstein. Dr. Vulapuk was played by Larry John who will be better known to 1970s Utah kids as Cannonball on Hotel Balderdash. Im happy to say hes still hard at work hosting Hotel Balderdash in Maui, Hawaii. Unfortunately, no photos or videos survive of Larry in his Vulapuk outfit but you can imagine him in a ghoul mask behind a lit candle and large book as he talked about the movies he was about to show.
