Happy Halloween to all those folks who lost their food stamps today. The Republican war on the poor strategy at work. We live in the worlds wealthiest nation. Yet 14.5 percent of U.S. households—nearly 49 million Americans, including 15.9 million children—struggle to put food on the table. Thus says federal stats. This is not merely sad, it is criminal in my opinion. The only thing that blocks us from dealing with this reality of suffering quickly and effectively is, and has been since Reagan, the Republican Party. Shame on these uncaring legislators!
