Happy Independence Day! So for today, I am showing the full body stretch that I do AFTER every workout session. I incorporate stretches for every part of the body. There are always questions about whether to stretch before or after a workout. What I suggest is to do a 10-minute warmup before (getting the body moving and the heart rate up) and stretch after. These 2 components are vitally important for a healthy body and an effective training session. “When you lift a weight your muscles contract. And after the workout the muscles remain contracted for some time. The following restoration of the muscles’ length is what recovery is. Until the muscle has restored its length, it has not recovered. Hence he who does not stretch his muscles slows down the recuperation process and retards his gains.” Besides, tension and relaxation are the two sides of the same coin, “if the muscle forgets how to lengthen, it will contract more poorly. And that is stagnation of strength.”-Tim Ferriss When you go through a great stretch routine after a heavy weight lifting day, your muscles are already starting to recover and expand, which will allow to you get back to “normal” more quickly than if you didn’t stretch. This is a somewhat advanced routine, however there are ways to modify for those of you that lack flexibility. It is VERY important to stretch after EVERY session. I hope this helps some of you. Please comment or message with questions. Thank you for viewing and sharing...#fitnessiscontagious
