Happy Independence day everyone:) Here goes a little history frm wikipedia for my non Bengali friends- In the dark night of March 25th 1971, all of a sudden the Pakistani Army cracked-down to Dhaka city as the beginning of a genocide, the most cruel and inhuman, in the history of civilization. On 26 March 1971 the independence of Bangladesh was declared and the nine months long Liberation War begun which resulted in the loss of about 3 million lives. The Pakistani Army was defeated on 16 December in the same year, which is celebrated as Victory Day. I miss celebrating this special day with my friends n family back home.
