Happy Labour Day everyone! I am Kelly McClelland the new owner :) I just wanted to introduce myself to those of you who dont know me yet. I arrived in Mount Isa for the first time on my 18th birthday in 1997. I moved here to start a fresh new life and my Chefs apprenticeship. After spending 2 weeks here I met the love of my life, Sean. We married in 2001 and had our daughter Amy in 2003. Wanting to be closer to family we moved to the Gold Coast in 2004. While living there on a small property with my parents we grew our family having Mark in 2006 and Luke in 2009. We moved back here at the end of 2009 as we missed the lifestyle Mount Isa had to offer and to support Sean in his dream of a career in the explosives side of the mining industry. We also had many friends and family still living here and from stations around the country. Sean is born and bred off stations and as the saying goes - You can take the boy out of the country but, you cant take the country out of the boy! We have all fallen in love with it too and it is a frequent family outing. Over the years I have done a few different jobs. My passion was within the medical industry. I just loved helping people and making even if just a small difference in their lives. Becoming one of the first Australians to be a fully qualified Physiotherapy Assistant working for Jen at Mount Isa Physiotherapy Centre. Leaving work to have Amy. I then worked with Sean in running the office side of our earth moving business on the coast. After moving back here I followed my love of helping people and started studying pharmacy and working for Leigh and the most amazing team I have ever worked with at Pharmacy First. Earlier this year some of you will remember a local Mum contracting the deadly Influenza Virus, Swine Flu H1 N1 strain and ended up in a coma. That was me. After multiple organ failure, collapsed lung, massive bleeds and having to be resuscitated twice I was in for the fight of my life. Even to the point where my family were counselled in preparation that if I did wake at all they should be prepared for me to basically be in a vegetable like state (sorry, for lack of a better word). I wasnt expected to live, let alone be normal ever again. BUT I have won!!! After many months of rehabilitation and recovery I am now ready to give back to the community who so dearly and overwhelmingly supported myself and my family at such a hard time in our lives. I am very grateful to you all, specially my friends and family who have not given up on me and supported Sean and the kids even after such a long road. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. Because of this and a chronic foot condition I still endure I have had to leave my Pharmacy First family and change my career path as just about everything in the medical industry that I wanted to pursue required long hours on my feet. Which brings me here to my other love of fashion!!!!! So, as a working Mum of 3 and a wife with a mortgage and the usual debts I understand what it is like to always put myself last and shop on a budget. I also love to take pride in my appearance and look nice no matter where I am going. With that in mind I hope you will enjoy some new labels as well as some old ones in the store. I am also very open to any ideas and suggestions you may have as well.
