Happy Mother’s Day If this is your first year in our practice - TopicsExpress

Happy Mother’s Day If this is your first year in our practice you may not know about our Mother’s Day tradition. Every Mother’s Day we fill the office with potted plants and bless our Mothers. We have been doing this for many years and it is only just a small token of our appreciation for all they do. If you are a Mother, please feel free to select a plant of your choice and take it home with you. No, the flowers are not for sale, they are free for all Mothers. We just want to say “thank you” for all you do. I have been blessed by so many mothers in my life. I have my own mother who raised me, nurtured me, sacrificed for me, and put up with me. I have my mother-in-law who did the same for my wife and is a constant blessing to our family. And then I have the mother to my sons: Gayle. She is the perfect example of how one word can have so many different meanings. In this case, the word “mother” means house manager, chef, chauffer, accountant (actually, she is a chartered accountant), bus driver, nurse, psychologist, money manager, and referee (to name a few). I’m not sure how she does it all but I thank God for her every day. If there is one piece of advice that I could give a young mother it would be this: make YOU your number one priority. This may sound odd but hear me out. I have had the opportunity to listen to many flight attendants explain what to do in case of an emergency. When that oxygen mask comes down, what do they tell parents to do? PUT YOURS ON FIRST! You see, if you don’t take care of yourself first, there is no way you will be able to take care of your children. This is an incredible life lesson but one that many mothers will not adhere to. The mother’s instinct is to always take care of their children first. But the same goes for your health. If you are to be the best mother you can be you must take care of your own health first. When you are at your best you can give 100% to your children just like you want to. However, if you have sacrificed your health (exercise, eating properly, going to the Chiropractor) for your children’s well-being, one day you may not have enough health to give them 100%. If you can’t give them 100% their well-being will suffer. Putting yourself last is not serving anyone but taking the time to make sure that you are in great health will benefit your children, your family, as well as YOU. Putting yourself first is always a WIN WIN situation. We understand fully how mothers leave their health as a last priority so this week, May 12-15, we will be offering the Gift of Health for any Mothers in your life. The first step to getting healthy for any Mother is to get their spine and nerve system checked. We believe that all mothers deserve to have complete health. We know that you have a mother in your life that always puts herself last. This week is your opportunity to put her first! ALL MOTHERS will receive a free Initial Exam in the office. Instead of letting her put everyone else first let’s put her first and show her where real health comes from. This is an incredible opportunity to get a mother you love back on track and on the road to health. This is open to ANY Mother in your life. God Bless our Mothers, Dr. Jeff
