Happy New Year CaribSO! I hope everyone had a relaxing and enjoyable break. Spring 2015 has a lot in store for CaribSO and promises to be, though hectic, extremely rewarding and exciting. To mention a few, CaribSO will be putting effort into retaining our title as having the best booth at Cranwells International Street Fair! With this event we intend to improve on our already successful model, focusing mainly on better planning and increased efficiency. In addition, we will be introducing more structured programming for this semester, through the implementation of a Google Calendar, which will highlight the dates of meeting, potlucks, speeches and other events well in advance so that we can maximize group attendance. Finally, at the end of February, CaribSO in conjunction with ASA, will be bringing the international reggae artist Gyptian to Virginia Tech. This event will allow us to fulfill our mission of sharing our shared culture to the Blacksburg community in a really powerful and widespread manner. This event is soon approaching and requires as much support as everyone can give if it is to be successful.
