Happy New Year! What a year it has been! Last year at this time we hit the 40,000 member mark! Since then, we have added over 30,000 members over the year; much more than I ever expected. Thank you all for liking the page, spreading the word, and sharing the information! Knowledge is power, and there is power in numbers. We are creating awareness around the world, and empowering family and individuals on the spectrum through networking, sharing, and supporting each other. I hold high hopes for the next year. Awareness is growing, supports are improving, and networking is growing stronger. We must not sit back and hope for a better future, we need to actively create a better future. One by one, families, teachers, professionals, and friends are banding together to create a better world. It comes gradually, but only through assertive efforts of thousands, and eventually millions of advocates. Be one of those advocates; be a champion! Lead the way; one child, one parent, one teacher, one school, one professional at a time. I never realized how one page could reach so many wonderful advocates and help encourage, empower, and spread a wealth of information across the world. We are having an effect; creating change. You are part of it; a valued resource; a component of change. Don’t underestimate your ability to affect not only your child’s future, but also the future of many others to follow. Continue to share your experience and knowledge, spread the information, and advocate for change. For millions of you who never thought of being a champion, this plate has been handed to you. You may not have asked for it, nor sought it out, but it is yours to own. Never ever feel you don’t have an important voice! It is the voice for your children, for yourself, and for the generations to follow.
