Happy Samhain, everyone (thats not pronounced Sam-hain, its pronounced sow-WHEN or SOW-en, for you Philistines out there). Its the Celtic New Year, and many Neopagans celebrate it as the end of the Year and the Beginning of the next (my teacher tried to teach me that Samhain ended the year, but The New Year didnt begin until Yule: what does that make the months between, not a part of the Calendar? For me, this is my New Years Eve. This year, Im sorting books to go on shelves downstairs, where there are many shelves that arent the right size for mass-market paperbacks. So Im double-rowing them, turning the front row on its side for now, but Im making endless stacks of corregated cardboard to stand up those back rows so the top four inches of the book are on display behind the front row. This means I have shelf space for many more books. Before my latest trip to Skyline drive this week, I got many, many books whose authors names begin iwth H, and then shelved a few Is and Js. So I made it through H! Tonight after celebrating with Terri and the SIlver Phoenix group, I plan to go to L! -tc
