Happy Saturday, folks!! Ron and I are taking the pups and going to a potluck/bbq to meet a bunch of our FB friends this afternoon - how fun is THAT? Good food, new friends, and a chance for the puppies to socialize, too. My doctor appt went really well yesterday. She ordered an MRI of my spine to get a deeper look at whats going on in my back. We made a plan of attack, barring any terrible findings on the MRI. There isnt just one thing we can do to fix me, ie, surgery, shots, etc. Its going to take a while, but Ill be doing PT, weight loss & working on strengthening my core to help take some of the pressure off my spine. Ill be starting an in-home Yoga for Arthritis program soon, and hopefully buying a backyard pool in July. She upped my pain meds and sent me to the lab for a re-test of my kidney function. Ill get results on that Monday or Tuesday. Still no NSAIDs allowed, but the pain pills will help take the edge off so I can get off the couch. Its definitely not the easy fix I was hoping for, but it IS a chance to lower my pain level and get some of my life back, and Ill take it. The worst that can happen - it wont lower my pain level much, but Ill be lots thinner, lots healthier, and that aint bad for a worst case scenario. The best outcome, of course, is significant lowering of my back pain, and a significant increase in my ability to take back my life. Im excited to get started! Im so grateful to finally have health insurance. Now, its time for me to get busy with my day. Thanks for all your kind thoughts & prayers, guys. I dont know what Id do without you!
