Happy Saturday to our TSBR Troopies everywhere! The Big White - TopicsExpress

Happy Saturday to our TSBR Troopies everywhere! The Big White Harleys Hope Truck has been on the road 9 hours today to save another desperate neglected Labrador... Meet Oso! We think he is OOO-so sweet, but also OOO-so pathetic and sad. This male yellow Labrador Retriever is just 7 months old, but it took him suffering to the point he has lost all pigmentation in his pads that they are now bleeding and raw, almost all his hair is gone, and his skin is so red he looks sunburn, for his owners to decide that it would be easier to take him to the shelter than to the vet! He has been suffering like this for likely most of his short life. This boy has one of the worst cases of demodectic mange we have ever seen. What should be treatable and simple to help early on, has now become a systemic skin infection, and compromises his immune system. He has swollen lymph nodes and his skin is so hot to touch we wept at the pain he must feel to be petted. BUT...hope has arrived and Osos tail is still waggin. His spirit is just begging to get to be all things a beloved Lab should be... We KNOW that with the LOVE and support of the best rescue friends around...he will be OOO-so very handsome in no time! Oso has a tough road ahead of him for sure and it wont be fast but we are pretty sure he already knows that life got better the moment he hopped up into the Big White Truck. Oso needs a temp foster for a couple of weeks while his special medical foster finishes taking care of another baby. Demodex is NOT contagious and treatment is based around oral medications and skin care. He doesnt smell fabulous, but we havent told him that ... So if you arent afraid of giving baths, pill pockets and oral meds, and a smelly boy for two weeks PLEASE PLEASE consider temp fostering Oso. We simply couldnt walk out and leave him behind! Osos medications are not cheap so we will cover the first $500 of care from Harleys Hope Fund. We are hoping to raise the additional funds necessary. If you are interested in sponsoring Oso - please visit: Retrieveafriend.Org/Donate Thank you from the bottom of our paws!
