Happy Solstice > Full Moon > Noche de San Juan ... no excuses not to have FUN! After six months of reclusion in my home-recording studio whilst paying for a PA by instalments – tonight will be the first time to try out my arrangements & loops in 500w stereo, live on stage – taking lead vocals and electro-acoustic rhythm guitar. After 30 years of troubadour folk (solo) it’s going to be great to have a virtual band ‘TRIBUTE’ with me. I’d need another lifetime and a load of day-jobs to afford real musos (+ egos!), rehearsals (impossible with no vehicle as yet), setting up & striking stages, sound-checks, etc, etc! However, the backline arrangements leave plenty of space for additional percussion, drums, keyboards, guitars and other instrumentation... if improvised well! Not ‘karaoke’ (though it’s a good sing-along) or ‘lift musak’... but sure, ‘backing’ is just support. Hope to spend this winter adding vocals, harmony and finding session musicians to add their magik – for a ‘double-album’ of my favourite cover songs to complete a decade after almost dying twice in 2004 when I thought I would never play & sing again – let alone LIVE! “ReCovery” will be in .mp3 format free on the web by summer 2014 – then record my own songs as “Legacy”. ¡Ojala!
