Happy Sunday! One of you commented on another video that we are the best-groomed cat family, and it is so true...I have taken it as my duty to make sure my brothers are squeaky-clean at all times. This morning Joeys ear was VERY dirty, but dont worry, I took care of that! The fact that I groom them, and myself, is actually quite remarkable, because when I first came to my forever home, I hardly washed myself at all. I didnt even wash my face after I ate, which is highly unusual for a cat. My mom thinks that I was taken away from my mom when I was too young because mother cats are the ones that teach that behavior to their kittens. She doesnt know if I was bred at the lab or if a breeder sold me to them, but either way, we know that I have been there since I was born. I was in a tiny cage for my first three years, so I never got to see or imitate normal cat behavior. It took about a week of observation in my new home for me to learn that my cat family always washes themselves. My mom still remembers the first time that I tentatively licked my paw and rubbed it over my face after breakfast one day. After that, there was no stopping me! Just another reminder of how far I have come from the lab and how fantastic freedom can be.
