Happy Sunday from Heaven. One year ago today Sandy Wayne was all snuggled up in her Princess towel after having a nice warm bath. The other picture was taken from our front porch as one of the neighborhood bears came walking through our yard to get into the neighborhood behind us. Many of the neighbors left their trash cans out as well as their pet food, and these bears were constantly roaming the area looking for their next meal. Although the people were told over-and-over not to leave food sources around their yard, it seemed many of them never learned and the bears just kept coming. Sadly for the bears, when people make their homes inviting to the bears, they lose their fear of people and some of them even try to get into the homes in the area. This usually is a death sentence for these beautiful animals. We need to be more respectful of our animal neighbors, and IF we are going to move into their areas, we have the responsibility of doing whatever is required to keep our families and the animals safe. Tommy and I loved watching the wildlife while living in the forest, but were very respectful of their rights. We made sure nothing was around to make them want to enter our yard, and made noises and such when they came into the yard to let them know this is not a good place for bears to be. As long as they stayed in the wooded areas and/or on the dirt roads, we just watched as they passed by. We miss seeing the bears since moving to our new home, but we do see many other wildlife. We can also keep feed out for the birds and squirrels without the fear of attracting the bears. Everyone here is doing fine today and just relaxing while we enjoy a lazy Sunday.
