Happy Tail: Passing gas dog saves life...Only from ASAS Audrey Egelston Here is a happy tail about my puppy Roxy who I adopted in February. She is a genius and already has graduated from Puppy Class. About a month ago, I got a call at work about a strong natural gas smell at my house. I rushed home and confirmed that smelled like natural gas, so I called the National Grid hotline. As a new homeowner, I was freaking out. A technician would be out soon, they said. I sat down on the couch next to my dog, Roxy and heard this strange hissing sound. It was coming from her. She kept farting and farting, causing that natural gas smell. I called National Grid to cancel the technician, but they told me by law, they still have to come check. The tech arrived and we laughed as he went through his standard inspection, until he found a carbon monoxide leak in the basement. It was 17 times higher than the allowable amount. My farting dog, Roxy (who I adopted from ASAS) saved my life!
