Im thankful that ten years ago, I was led to take my first trip to Asia on VSET 2004. No regrets! I wouldnt be living the good life here now it I hadnt taken that first step of faith. 2. Im thankful for my first team, the Jigga Crew (dont ask), our adventures in Beijing and Xinjiang, and the priceless lessons I picked up along the way. 3. Im thankful that the next year, I got to come to Kyrgyzstan for the first time, and teach English in Tokmok. 4. Im thankful for the next three summers in Kyrgyzstan and China, especially getting a chance to teach at Arabayev University as well as an unforgettable outdoor session at Derjinka Park! And TALAS! Wow - love it out there. 5. Im thankful for the first summer in Almaty in 2008, and the way the city and the students welcomed us so warmly - and Ive been back almost every summer since! Love it! Apple apple apple apple apple! 6. Im thankful that Bishkek has been such a wonderful home these last six years. I said something like that last time, but today, lets say Im especially thankful for that first class of students in the fall of 2008, best man and fellow pioneer Alex Lee, as well as our first teammates, TimL and Peter, and future teammates, Becky, Esther, and Lorraine. 7. Im thankful for so many awesome teammates over the years. The summer wouldnt have been the same without any of you. Much love. Whos next? I nominate: Bota, Peter Lin, Esther Wang, Ethan Chan, Bernadette Saldana, Sanjar Sulaimanov, and Ezra Shim. and... Zholdosh and Kema too. What should you do and why? https://youtube/watch?v=GTf3JmOS9oU Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Life is gooooood. #4daystogo! And it doesnt have much to do with VSET really, but man am I thankful for tonights epic Thanksgiving dinner - roast chicken with homemade gravy, peach berry pie, Pakistani spicy chicken rice, Afghan home-style meatballs, a fresh homemade potato pie, Russian new year potato salad and a beef with bell pepper salad too! And thats just the food. Even better was the friends and the laughs. Thanks for coming, Friba (first and early), Asel, Samat, Elita, and Maffaz.
