Happy Veterans Day to all the men and women who have served! Im glad there is a day that we can honor them....... but what about the other 364 days. We should be ashamed of ourselves!!! These men and women were willing to pay the ultimate price for their country (YOU AND I), and this is how we treat them. The wages are appalling ($33,000 yr. average enlisted solder). All of our elected officials are well over $100,000 and into the $200,000 range (not counting the money they get for whoring themselves out, which often times puts our soldiers lives at risk). Their medical........well .....they are the ones who should be getting top shelf care for LIFE! Mental and physical. Not our elected officials. Why are there Homeless and Unemployed vets in this country??? WHY? If you are in a position to hire employes, hire one, hell... Hire several. If you now someone who is hiring encourage them to hire vets. The so called government programs are failing our vets. We as citizens can do better. If you see one on a street corner hungry, take them to lunch. If you see one homeless and cold, treat them to a meal and get them a hotel for the night. I now its only temporary....... But DO SOMETHING, ANYTHING. Show them you care, and that their sacrifice has not gone unnoticed. Give to the numerous organizations that specialize in helping vets. We all need to sacrifice for them!
