Happy Wednesday Opportunity 9) ASSISTANT CURATOR & MARKETING INTERN POSITIONS AT THE BAG FACTORY The Bag Factory is opening a call for applications for two projects taking place at the Bag Factory. Please take note that these are project based positions and not permanent employment. Please read the criteria carefully prior to submitting your application. INCOMPLETE applications will not be considered. INVITATION TO APPLY: Assistant Curator The Bag Factory is looking for an assistant or student curator interested in being involved in an upcoming exhibition at Bag Factory. Applicants will be expected to: have some curatorial knowledge be able to work in a team environment work within a set conceptual framework and theme along with the Curator work within a committee structure manage the process of acquiring and transporting artworks manage the collation of data for the exhibition manage the exhibition’s budget along with the Curator produce and manage all marketing relating to the exhibition along with the Curator produce a financial and narrative report post the project report to the Curator Please send the following documents to [email protected]: CV, including references that can attest your curatorial knowledge Copy of your ID A one page motivation letter INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED DEADLINE for submissions is 18 August 2014 The programme runs on a part time basis from 25 August to 9 October Applicants must have access to transport facilities and must be available during the projects duration. INVITATION TO APPLY: Marketing Intern Description of project The Bag Factory looking to locate and develop a new art going audience through a series of audience development activities. The audience development activities will be aimed at a wide variety of age, race and socio-economic groups across the city. Project Objectives Profile our “new” audience - Decipher their likes and dislikes & decipher their fears, Understand their motivations Create a profile for our target audience Helping to develop public programming to suit the “new” audience Manage the social media and newsletter accounts generate greater and wider PR for the arts through Bag Factorys audience development activities Generate higher attendance at regular Bag Factory events / activities Grow the Bag Factory mailing list Increase traffic on the Bag Factory’s facebook and twitter pages Applicants will be expected to: have or be completing a marketing degree be able to work in a team environment work within a set conceptual framework and theme along with the Curator conduct research and report on their findings create strategies and propose solutions to the research findings implement strategies and programmes that respond to the research findings produce and manage all marketing relating to the Bag Factory and its projects produce a narrative report post the project Please send the following documents to [email protected]: CV, including references that can attest your marketing knowledge Copy of your ID A one page motivation letter INCOMPLETE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED DEADLINE for submissions is 18 August 2014 The programme runs on a part time basis from 25 August 2014 to 20 February 2015.
