Happy World Elephant Day (esp. you) This is my Love Vaishnavi. She is a supremely well treated, even worshipped, ELe in a majestic Golden Temple based in compassion and practical assistance for all life and all creatures in Tamil Nadu, and they are very effective with their kindly programs too. Everyone notices- we have a real Love affair going. She gives me long hugs with her trunk when I arrive, snuggles and bends me around to her eye for our Love gaze. I first met her she had a crush on me when she was only up to my hip & we played for endless hours. Soo fun. I always got her Vicks cough drops, shed crunch up 5 then snort through her truck for that cooooL feeling. Over the years, once I forgot them and she was rummaging through my jacket pockets looking for them restlessly. Lot of happy memories dancing with her. She is 3X that size now. HUGE. My favourite was when she was in a procession with 750 Sadhus circling the Temple. Most of them came down from the himalayas for the event. She was fully adorned and painted up. I was a complete onlooker on the sides of this very wild parade. That eyeball spotted me and she turned so quick, the trunk wrapped and grabbed me at the waist, and she flipped me upside down and turned forward in the procession. Like in the cartoons, while flipped, she began to dangle and shake me ! She wanted the Vicks to drop out ! Then she righted me and plopped me before her and immediately began nudging and nosing me forward in the procession, policing my right and left. From behind, it was popping me up 3 feet up every time and I had no choice but to march. And thats how I became the only white western Sadhu in the procession that day.
