Happy sunday!! I came across this when exploring particularly divestment relevant side-events at the COP in Lima. The IPIECA (which is the global oil and gas industry association for environmental and social issues) published a document to go with their event that explored some of the assumptions involved in the concepts of unburnable carbon and a carbon bubble, and the document (and the event) «puts them into the wider perspective of the energy system, recognizing the importance that oil and gas bring to modern living standards, economic growth and societal advancement». Glad to see they have their priorities in order. The doc is pretty interesting to us I think and could be useful in terms of getting acquainted with the arguments of ’the unbelievers’ and therefore food for pondering on how we can counter the counter-arguments.
