Happy thought 3. Mom and Dad. The Lord has truly blessed me with a loving and nurturing set of fabulous parents. They taught us discipline, showed us love, and gave us the right mixture of freedom to make us the strong people my siblings and I are today. I would say 80 percent of the man I am today is a direct result of these two people. Moms love has been absolute, never wavering; even when I was twelve and thought I was a big tough guy and drew back my fist at her. Yeah, that didnt go as planned. After I picked myself up off of the ground (where she put me with one well placed fist), I got to wait for my dad to come home and then the fun really began. Mom has been there through thick and thin, always eager to offer her advice and love. If you want to see what impact she has had on my life, look at Cass and my granddaughters. Dad, what to say. He is my best friend, we talk almost every day on the phone, even just to say hi. He has taught me to be an outdoors man, not just a hunter and fisher man. The love I have for the outdoors and raising my own food comes from him and both of my grandfathers. He taught me the skill of being a homesteader, for being a homesteader requires you to take what you have around you and make it work. Zip ties, duct tape, pop cans; we can do a lot with these few things. He called me the other day needing a fix on something. After talking for a while, we came up with a outside the box fix. He said I knew I could come to you to get it right. I told him, where do you think I learned it? Thank you Mom and Dad, I love you
