#HappyLaborDay Lord, theres whole bunch of weary women & tired men who labor even on days like this, heroes who dont shirk back when the alarm goes off & they hit the floor because they know theyre called & they go slay their dragons, truck drivers who keep on hauling down the road right now, nurses who ignore their aching feet to keep the midnight watch, a host of brave teachers who inhale courage for tomorrow, pastors & plumbers & waitresses & shift workers & farmers, whole countries built on the labouring hands of the faithful, people who dont quit looking for work as soon as they find a job, people who labor hard, like everything depends on them, but pray harder because they know everything really depends on You, people who arent afraid of dirt under their fingernails because they know all work is good work because it makes this world a better place & makes us the better for it. On this Labor Day, its the joy of faithful work that lets the faithful enjoy real rest. Please bless us all with labor, Lord, & bless the laborers with strength for their calling & bless our land with laborers for our strength, men with strong backs & stronger hope, women with faithful hands & prayerful knees, and children who know that work for your hands is a blessing & the work of your hands can be the blessing back to your family, your country, your Lord.
