REGULAR MEETING The Marionville R-9 Board of Education Regular Meeting was called to order at 7:15 p.m. by Chris Murphy. Roll call was taken. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 151-13 Motion by Marilyn McCroskey seconded by Chris Murphy to go into closed session, closed vote, and record pursuant to Section 610.021 (3) Hiring of Employees and Section 610.021 (6) Student Discipline. In accordance with the District’s participation in the Missouri Direct Deposit Program, the District is to make a transfer in the amount of $37,431 from the debt service fund to the incidental fund. D. Consider 2013-2014 Trash Bids E. Consider 2013-2014 Pest Control Bids. F. Consider 2013-2014 Fuel Bids G. Final Approval of 2012-2013 Bus Routes. H. Employ Summer School Teachers a. Yeas: 6 Nays: 0 Recusant: 1 - McCroskey 155-13 Motion by Brandon White seconded by Brad Smith to accept Allied Bus Sales transportation bid of $705 per month to lease a bus for a 5 year period pursuant to the enclosed bid specifications. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 156-13 Motion by Brandon White seconded by Marilyn McCroskey to accept Kelly Bishop’s asphalt bid of $15,955 to repair and seal the high school parking lot, seal the elementary playground, and install asphalt at the entrance to the back lot at the high school. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 157-13 OPAA Food Service Updated Motion by Marilyn McCroskey seconded by Chris Murphy to authorize Dr. Larry Brown to solicit bids for contracted food service. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 158-13 Discussed Bond Process Motion by Marilyn McCroskey seconded by Brad Smith that the Marionville R-9 School District does amend the FY13 budget to the actual revenues and expenditures. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 159-13 Motion by Jim Hill seconded by Chris Murphy to use the bond money to purchase additional cafeteria tables for the high school. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 160-13 Motion by Brad Smith seconded by Marilyn McCroskey to amend the 2013-2014 certified salary schedule as presented by adding one additional step and to amend the 2013-2014 extra-duty salary schedule as presented. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 161-13 Motion by Marilyn McCroskey seconded by Brandon White to amend the 2013-2014 non-certified salary schedule as presented. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 162-13 Motion by Marilyn McCroskey seconded by Brad Smith to amend the teachers 2013- 2014 contracts pursuant to the amended 2013-2014 Marionville R-9 teacher’s salary schedule and the 2013-2014 extra-duty schedule when applicable. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 163-13 Motion by Brandon White seconded by Marilyn McCroskey to amend non-certified staff members 2013-2014 salaries pursuant to the amended 2013-2014 non-certified salary schedule. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 164-13 Motion by Brandon White seconded by Marilyn McCroskey to amend Becky Murphy’s salary to $15,625 for the 2013-2014 school year. Yeas: 6 Nays: 0 Recusant: 1 - Murphy 165-13 Motion by Chris Murphy seconded by Brad Smith to employ Judy Wright at as salary of $2,500 per month beginning August 1, 2013 and ending when a decision is made concerning the district allowing an outside vendor to manage its food service. Yeas: 6 Nays: 0 Recusant: 1 – White 166-13 Motion by Marilyn McCroskey seconded by Chris Murphy to amend Shirley Hopkins’s salary to $22,890 for the 2013-2014 school year. Yeas: 6 Nays: 0 Recusant: 1 - Mais 167-13 Motion by Marilyn McCroskey seconded by Brad Smith to amend Mark Estep’s 2013- 2014 contract to $71,812 and an A+ Stipend. This amount is determined by a pre-existing contract. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 168-13 Motion by Marilyn McCroskey seconded by Chris Murphy to amend Christy Short’s 2013-2014 contract to $77,211. Yeas: 5 Nays: 2 174-13 Motion by Brad Smith seconded by Marilyn McCroskey that for the 2013-2014 school year the Board does hereby select Coventry as the group medical insurance provider, Standard as the disability insurance, and Hartford Group Benefits as the group life insurance provider. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 175-13 Motion by Chris Murphy seconded by Brandon White that for the 2013-2014 school year and pursuant to Board Policy 4540, the Board pays up to $404.94 per month toward each certificated and qualifying non-certified employee’s month Board paid medical insurance premiums. Yeas: 7 Nays: 0 176-13 Motion by Brad Smith seconded by Chris Murphy to reimburse administrators $20 a month for the use of their cell phones for the school use effective for the 2012-2013 school year and subsequent contracted years. Yeas: 4 Nays: 3 177-13 MSBA Leadership Summit Report Principal’s Report – Student/Faculty Handbooks-First Reading The July regular meeting shall be held at 6:30 p.m. on July 17, 2013 at Junior High Commons.
