Hard to believe that Elvis would be 80 years old today! My goodness, I remember vividly the day he died. I just arrived at Alumni Stadium for football practice that morning (August 16, 1977). My locker was next to Loftys. He was the one who told me! I hadnt heard yet! Pretty wild! Im sure I had one of my Elvis 8-tracks playing in my car as I drove into the stadium that morning (which I did pretty regularly back then)! I still say, to this day, he was the best!!! Some of my favorites include covers that he took to a whole new level! Just like this James Taylor hit. No offense to JT, but Elvis blows it away...
