Harding Academy visited Radnor Lake on Nov. 7 to work with Ranger Sam King on mulching on the Lake Trail. The volunteers worked long hours hauling recycled mulch in wheelbarrows and installing it along the trail which helps reduce sedimentation run-off (water quality), which creates a more defined trail, protects adjoining plant life and creates a better hiking experience for park visitors. The Harding Academy community service program initially began from a middle school-wide project of getting out and helping others in the community. Radnor Lake was first mentioned as a possible service day placement by faculty member, Lisa Loper, who frequented the natural area and is a regular park volunteer. Harding Academy has been volunteering at Radnor Lake State Natural Area twice a year since the fall of 2010. Radnor would like to thank Harding Academy for assisting in efforts to protect Radnor Lake and enhance the trails for park visitors. Thank you Harding Academy for your support of Radnor Lake!! tnstateparks/parks/about/radnor-lake
