Hari...A Small Essay There are ideas that if there is a God,he must be quality-less...or the opposite of material reality,where everything has name,form,qualities and the living entities have activities.Nice sentiment...at least people think of God in some way,yet it is entirely miscalculated. There is unlimitedly bigger logic that All Powerful Supremely Independent Being or God exists,than not.We can see the staggering evidence of specified design&enormous complexity within a living system&all that bio-chemistry can not be responsible for consciousness. Srimad Bhagavatam revealed that this is Krishna.The logic is that the Source must possess everything that can be found in His emanations(such as this phenomenal world)&much more beyond our comprehension.What is beyond our comprehension is that there is the reality of spiritual name,form qualities and activities.The Supreme unlimited Conscious Being,Krishna(The All-Attractive Person)can appear in this limited mortal world,which is the manifestation of his external energy.He comes incognito to deliver the crazy living beings that are stuck in it for millions of lifetimes. Krishnas activities are most unusual.Appearing as little baby,He killed&liberated Putana. The first person who tried to kill him.Upon seeing her,Krishna closed His eyes because according to Vedic literatures,women should never be killed.Yet Krishna killed Putana.When she embraced Him to feed Him with her poison smeared breasts,she did not know that she is embracinga venomous snakes as per Prabhupadas affectionate description.The real snake was Putana,yet Prabhupada puts Krishna in that light,to indicate how Krishna is merciless to vicious demonss(minds and bodies).Yet Krishna liberated Putana&gave her position of maternal role in the spiritual world(dimension).That shows that within Krishna,there is no evil.To materialists may look like he was vicious towards Putana&therefore that cant depict God,yet for the devotees that is the Supreme Reality.The Supreme Person can do whatever He likes and it is all good.Its the best for the persons highest benefit.Prabhupada explainsKrishna was obliged to kill her so that she would not commit more nefarious activities which would have result in future suffering for all involved&herself. Krishnas killing of Putana is non-different from His love for mother Yasoda.Putana and Yasoda were given the same position and facility in the spiritual world&that makes sense to those who understand the depths of Krishnas heart. Putana represents also the false guru,one who preaches that Krishna is a mere concept,or the impersonal Brahman,who has descended in a human form.Such miscalculations are killed by Krishna,so that the sincere seeker of truth can make advancement on the path of self-realisation.Why the first demon to be killed was a woman?Because Kamsas plan was that no one would be suspecting a beautiful woman to be an assassin.An unknown man would have been more suspicious.Also men do not have the tendency to play with little babies.More over,Putana as lady could be allowed to feed Him,hence the vicious poison on her breast. Krishna is always God, Prabhupada says...He never becomes God by mystic yoga or mental conjecture.Best wishes to those who may think that God is Siva,Brahma,Durga,Laxmi or any other demigod =) God has specific Nama(name),Rupa(spiritual form),Guna(divine qualities) and Lila(Transcendental Activities-difficult to comprehend for the ordinary mind). He can be understood only via the careful application of the Bhakti yoga process,which begins and ends with humility.
