Hariri condemns the terrorist explosion in the Southern Suburb Former Prime Minister Saad Hariri condemned the terrorist explosion which targeted the Southern Suburb of Beirut this afternoon. He said: “This horrific crime which targeted innocent citizens in the Southern Suburb is part of a vicious terrorist scheme that aims at igniting the fire of discord and evil across Lebanon. It also aims at harming this country, which is struggling to keep away from the surrounding fires. The Lebanese, regardless of their religious or political affiliation, cannot but condemn this terrorist crime in the strongest terms. They also express their solidarity with their brothers in the Southern Suburb, especially with the families of the martyrs and the victims, in the face of any schemes that target their security and dignity, and try to drag Lebanon once again into the abyss of discord and civil strife. We ask God Almighty to bless the souls of the martyrs and heal the wounded. We call on everyone to resort to wisdom and restraint and not to execute the plans of the enemies of Lebanon, who want us to fall in the trap of discord, and want to destroy what is left of the state’s unity and stability”.
