Harold Caldwell Sr.: Harold Dean Caldwell Sr., 67, of Wallins Creek, Ky., passed away on Jan. 31, 2014, at Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn., following a long illness. He was born March 2, 1946 in Harlan County, Ky., to the late Eli and Mahaley Brock Caldwell. He was a disabled coal miner and believed in the Holiness faith. Harold was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a long-standing member of the Harlan County Rescue Squad, and former member of the Harlan County Chaplains Corps. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Thea Caldwell and sisters Della and Leona Caldwell and Freda Caldwell Thomas. Left to mourn his passing is his loving wife of 25 years, Debbie Saylor Caldwell; 7 children: Cindy Caldwell Gross and Lisa Caldwell Truelove, both of Cleveland, Tenn., Harold Caldwell Jr., Contessa Robbins Watkins (husband Greg), Brandon Robbins, Christopher Robbins, and Sarah Robbins Daniels, all of Wallins Creek, Ky.; 1 brother: Burton Caldwell, of Baxter, Ky.; 2 sisters: Elsie Faye Vaughn, of Middlesboro, Ky., and Jessie Muncy (husband David), of Wallins Creek, Ky.; 14 grandchildren; his cat Frankie and a multitude of relatives and special friends. Visitation will be Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Harlan Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at 1 p.m. also at the Harlan Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Burkhart and Ronnie Washam will be officiating. Special singing will be provided by Sandy Hendrickson. Burial will be at the Park Howard Cemetery, Wallins Creek, Ky. Members of the Harlan Honor Guard and Harlan County Rescue Squad will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Harlan Funeral Home to assist with Harolds final expenses. {jcomments on} dlvr.it/4rRw26
