Harrison-Okafor Bart: My mummy, my mummy, Oh! Nwayi-oma. You - TopicsExpress

Harrison-Okafor Bart: My mummy, my mummy, Oh! Nwayi-oma. You were my pride... The lightning of my path, absorber of my pain. Multitude in one Being and personification of grace. Tender and comely, full of passion and of care... An inspiration, the voice of the voiceless. You radiate love, kindness and hope. A shelter for the homeless... Just like the palm tree you stood, never give up, even in the face of adversity, danger and pain. You came out strong, joyful with songs of praises shining as your lord wills... The day you were born, the dews dropped from heaven like manners, a gift to the world yet not celebrated... There was a voice heard in heavenly places, a shout of peace, A daughter of Zion is here... Now is the time to go back, though your works still abound... You would have refused going, as we do want you to... But your CHI says its enough. Enough of the troubles of this world, enough of wickedness and injustice of people, enough of hateful acts and deeds... How I wished you stayed on! And fight one more time, I know you would have won, I know you would if you wanted... Even longer for a night, a night to sit around you, on a round table. And sing joyously to the lord... I could still remember, the night you carried me and said My son have faith in the lord ... (Nwa`m we`ghe O`kwu`kwe Na`ebe Chi gi`no`) But your heart could not hold on, because you have been bruised even by those you love... Yet you forgave and say as usual forget, that is the world for you (ha`pu, o`wu o`tu uwa di) Oh nwayi-oma, Nwayi Obioma, Nwayi-udo, Nkpuro-oma... la na udo, la na udo... If indeed there is a next life, if really there is a next world, I do like you to be my mother... Ewooooo... Ewooooo Chi`gi A`kpo la gi` o`ku` la Na Udo... Good night my sweet mother, we shall see at the last day... May your soul rest in peace my sweet mother... Amen....
