Harvard psychologist Howard Gardner has conducted additional research advocating fine arts. Gardner hypothesizes that there are seven total forms of intelligence: visual/spatial, musical, kinesthetic, interpersonal, intrapersonal, verbal, and logical. The first five intelligence forms are predominantly found in fine arts. However, most American school systems core curricula focus on subjects involving verbal and logical intelligence, such as English and science.
