Has anyone else been ripped off by AVIS.es? They have now implemented a refueling charge down to 1 day rental!!!! I rented a car in Sta. Cruz de La Palma and was charged a refueling charge of €80! In other words they charge you €80 whether you use up 1 litre or 80 litres. They know of course that nobodys going to be able to use up 80 liters of fuel in 2 days, and thereby steal gasoline from you from every rental! I am used to full out/ full in, so I gave them an extra 27 litres by filling up the tank prior to returnig the vehicle. AVIS is just rubbing their hands claiming I didnt read the fine print! What kind of business ethics do they follow? Even in the smallest grocery store, the clerk would say: I am sorry sir you left your change here on the counter when you left, so I am entitled to keep your change, but since I run a serious business, heres your change back, have a good day Sir! Heres what AVIS is saying: Hey you left a good chunk of change (gasoline) in the car and were keeping it! Na, na, na, na na! AVIS Renters, read you rental agreements carefully, these people have no remorse, and will rab anything you leave behind! I would be interested to receive feedback from anyone in the Canarias or elsewhere to initiate a class action suit! Stay away from the below ad, they are cheaters!
