Has anyone else been to a mall lately? I went to downtown salem to the mall with John Krebs. It was weird because all the cool, young people clothes were trying to look like thrift store clothes. If I want to buy clothes that look like they came from a thrift store I am going to go to a thrift store. People shop at thrift stores to 1. save money, 2. have a unique look, 3. reuse instead of consume, 4. support good causes, and 5. keep money you spend in the community. Macklemore must be pleased, his Thrift Shop song has gone so far as to make retail stores go after a nonprofit look in hopes of keeping their customers. Im sure this song scares the big department stores because it is giving society permission to look good without buy their brands.
