Has anyone used Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid for cutting - TopicsExpress

Has anyone used Tractor Hydraulic/Transmission Fluid for cutting in a slab saw? What do you think of it? Is it toxic at all? What is the thickness like? I know that SAE 30 motor oil is way too thick. I used to use livestock grade mineral oil until they realized they had a fish on the line and raised the price. So I switched to form oil. It is almost identical to the old mineral oil with a slight "garagey" odor. It is around $11/gallon. This Transmission fluid is $36.99 for 5 gallons, or $6.80/gallon at Tractor Supply. tractorsupply/en/store/xtremereg%3B-tractor-hydraulic--transmission-fluid-5-gal?cm_vc=-10005
