Has it been a long weekend already? Are you thinking about shutting off your phone and staying in tonight for some time for yourself? You could do that you know. And no one, myself included would blame you. But you will miss history taking place right here in your own back yard. You will miss seeing me put everything on the line in hopes of scoring huge points for poetry. Or walking away with my head hanging and my tail tucked safely between my legs. Oh wait! Never mind I plan on doing that anyway. I am calling tonight something like Heart Whisperer unsupervised. I have added a lot of my own observations about life and love and how sometimes it can be incredibly beautiful and other times incredibly sad. But sooner or later theres always something to learn and smile and laugh about. There are poems I wrote just for tonight. You will not see them surface again. No, Not ever. I will be making light of almost everything and mostly laughing at myself and mistakes made over the years. Are you sure you want to miss the only ride in town where I will bare my soul AND give you something to laugh about? I hope you choose to come to JDs J.D.s Pub tonight over sitting at home or even supper at the white house. Its going to be an amazing night with acquaintances becoming friends. Misunderstandings being understood. Laughter in the face of pain. And food for thought. Which reminds me there will be some snacks and social time between 4:30 and 6:00. If you are bringing snacks please try to come early enough to enjoy some time together. If youre not bringing snacks come early anyway to eat the snacks others bring. Thats what Im going to do lol. Right at 6:00 I will give an opening statement and start right in with whatever lies in store. and we will continue straight through in a relaxed atmosphere talking back and forth until 8:00pm when the .50 beer starts. Which you will never see me interfere with fifty cent beer. Please come and offer me some of your support. Or come as a hater wanting to see me fall. All that matters to me is that you are counted and that poetry is given a chance no matter how small. See you tonight! sincerely Ed
