Has nobody got a kind word for the new Ridley Scott film The - TopicsExpress

Has nobody got a kind word for the new Ridley Scott film The Counselor? Generally, it got poor reviews. I went along expecting to hate it. But I loved it. It was very literate - one of the things critics hated - but not wordy. The characters had interesting things to say. Im no great fan of the renowned author Cormac McCarthy although I liked No Country For Old Men as his work is often too opaque, but the writing here was of the highest calibre. For a film about a drug deal gone wrong it was surprisingly light on violence - the two most violent scenes delivered with real style. What was most beguiling was the relentlessness of the plot. Once the deal had gone wrong, it went wrong to the bitter end. I was not entirely convinced by Michael Fassbender in the lead but he does a good line in snivelling and Cameron Diaz gave skanky a bad name, but Brad Pitt and Bardem were excellent. I saw it in empty cinema which was a shame.
