Has the contemporary and new millennium church made salvation and serving God more difficult than it should be or needs to be? Yes, Yes, and Yes! How has this occurred? Where is it written that church service has to last a certain amount of time? How about dressing up for church? Many folks dont own a suit clothes that are suitable for church (club or party clothes). How about everything that we have added to the church service? 3 things are required 1) hear the word 2) offer prayers and testimony 3) receive the tithes/offering. What about Communion? Can be once a month or once a quarter or every Sunday depending upon the needs of the church and the desires of the senior pastor. Everything else could go away and much of it no one would care. Does the sermon have to be 1 hour or longer? Nope Does service on Sunday have to start at 11:00am? Nope I realize many churches have multiple services but other churches that have only one service start at 11:00 am. I realize there are traditions but traditions can kill a church when they outlive those who care about them. I evaluate what we are doing at Bridge of Hope and how we do it every Sunday. I am constantly evaluating are we hitting it missing our stated goals.
