Hassle-free 1/2 Square Triangles I get everything cut and excited to finally sit down to sew my first set of 1/2 square triangles and...... the corner gets stuck in a ball under the needle! Sometimes I can salvage the piece, most times it hits the recycle bucket. Try putting through a leader cloth first. A leader cloth is a scrap piece of fabric that you fold in half and sew first, then, (without cutting the thread) sew your 1/2 square triangle piece. It wont get stuck and as long as you keep chain piecing they will all go through easily! Using a leader cloth is a good habit to get into. It will also prevent the mess of tangled thread at the back of pieces!
